ADFL has recently repaired a cracked girth gear for a cement plant in Jodhpur admeasuring ɸ6200 PCD x 550 height x 204 teeth x 30 module and weighing 9000kg.
Girth gears form an important part of large mechanical equipment like rotary kilns and ball mills. Their function is to transmit and change the direction of force through the large ring gear. This subjects them to continuously high torsional loads and vibrations as clinker gets crushed, wearing out the teeth and developing cracks.
